The Triumph Dolomite was an evolution of the previous 1300/1500 and Toledo models. Dominics example is an 1850HL example of the breed. Known affectionatly as Edward he survived the trek around Europe with flying colours. Apart from a starter motor that stuck once or twice the only piece of spannering needed was to stick a bit of trim back onto the boot lid that had come off.
Excited at the possibility of being pressed back into service for this years Challenge, Edward used up all his batteries charge and then proceeded to create a hole in his fuel tank leading to an embarrasing call out to the fire brigade. Notions that an Austin Maxi was seen speeding away from the site of this accident with a maniacly laughing bearded gentleman driving are thought to be purely coincidental.
